Monday morning I went out to find this amazing rainbow over the mountains. It was the day after a very windy night with the remnants of Hurricane Ike passing through on up to Canada. If you look at the top right corner of the pic, that’s our house. See how close it is to the bakery? So love my daily commute!!

Well my bday was actually this past Sunday. We had a little get together with both my parents and our friend Maureen.

Dave planned a lovely lunch of lobster, both steamed (for me) and stuffed, my dad made baked stuffed quahogs and Maureen made a chocolate cake and some cookies. Along with the above mentioned goodies we had crackers and cheese, shrimp cocktail, grilled scallops, and French fries. It was a scene.

What gifts did I receive, you ask?

Dave went into the JCrew website and bought all the items in my shopping cart. I’m always loading up the cart then weeding out the things that I don’t really, really, really need, and this time he lucked out. There were only three items in my cart.

A really cute pink with white polka dot silk head band. I couldn’t find the picture on their site, I’m sure it’s sold out.

Adorable bag from Keeks and Brie. Of course now I want that sweet giraffe print bag for fall.

From my mother I got this polished pumpkin blazer from JCrew and a gift card to my hair salon, which I’ll be able to get 4 hair cuts out of.

It took me a year and 5 months to find a good stylist, and I finally found Patty at the Green Door Day Spa. I’ve been loving my hair since my first cut with her.

Of course Lily was one of my bday gifts from Dave. She’s been a good dog, but potty training a puppy is so frustrating. I think she’s doing much better, although I’ve now got a puppy poop cleaning kit that I have at the ready at all times.

My dad bought all the lobsters, plus he’s helping Dave install all our new windows and outer doors this week. Our house had the most inefficient, old windows and doors that let in so much cold last winter, and with the price of heating oil we figured it would be better to seal out the cold and try to use less oil. We’ll see what happens.

I haven’t made any terribly interesting cookies this week. Tomorrow I’ll have some cute balloons that I made for my cousin’s 40th birthday and hopefully the Harvard Med. School cookies will be ready for photography.

Can I just say I’m not really looking forward to writing “Harvard Medical School” on 160 cookies??!!! Hope it all fits!

What I’m really looking forward to is my 2 remaining Autumn cookie collections and all the cool Halloween cookies I’ll be making in the next few weeks.
