Not Quite There

We started the living room fix up this weekend and I have to say, we are loving the change.

living room

The dark and dingy green was such a downer, and was making our huge living room dark at all hours of the day. Even with two giant windows, it was a dark and dreary space.

living room

This is now our “dark” wall, it’s Classic Beige. Next weekend we’ll be sanding and staining the wood trim around the door and window, then installing a new baseboard. Plus there is a hole on the bottom left of the window that we’ll be sanding and painting. Overall, it wasn’t that difficult. Dave got on the ladder (I was going to, but he wouldn’t let me) and edged the trim up by the ceiling.

I figure if we do one wall per weekend we’ll be done by Valentine’s Day.

We’ll be painting the rest of the room in cottage white, which is an off white lighter than the beige.

new wine glasses

And a nice red wine in these new glasses, which I love. A Christmas gift from B and L. The only problem is that they are so tall, I worry that a cat, or dog is going to knock them over whenever we use them.

We watched District 9 last night. I didn’t really like it, the main character was extremely frustrating.

The final 2 episodes of True Blood Season 1 are on the way. Such a good show, we’re loving it except that Season 2 is not out on DVD yet!! I thought it was already out, otherwise I would have waited.

Not much else to show and tell today, we’ll be working on our Valentine’s Day inventory the rest of this week along with a super cute new Valentine’s collection that will be a perfect gift for all you singles, or all your single friends, can’t wait to share!!

Bye For Now!!

We’re thinking of you Artie!!

No Jackie, please no Jackie!

Love the wall! Amazing what a color change can do for a room, huh? When we moved to our house, it was filled with wallpaper. I would’ve loved to have dealt with a paint color that I didn’t particularly care for than the work involved with wallpaper. Looking great and happy to know that you’re pleased with it- that’s what matters most!

I just heard a Joke Hunt commercial and was amazed once again about how it totally lacks humor. “Twat” heh heheh….uh, YEAH.

The wall looks great! I don’t know what’s a bigger pain–painting over a dark color with a light or the reverse.

Okay, I’m weird but I love the green – the beige is nice and does lighten it up. Irregardless, it looks great.

Things really look great Laura. I love your new wall and paint. I watched District 9 and I like it alright, except I thought it was sad that the main character have to remain like that for 3 years. Your also right, he was irritating.. Have a great day. Can’t wait to see the Valentine cookie project photos.
