logo cookies

I’m hoping that today will be the last day of cookie production until Christmas. But you never can be too sure, there’s always someone out there looking for custom made cookies using custom made cookie cutters that they need tomorrow.

So if you’re one of those people, go ahead give us a call. I’m not making any promises, not at all.

We did manage to get over to Woodstock last weekend to check out Wassail Weekend, which really should be called Wassail Saturday because there’s not much going on on Wassail Sunday.

We stayed in Woodstock while we were looking at properties three years ago. It’s really the town that made me fall in love with VT. If only one of the beautiful homes on The Green were in our budget!

They have a gorgeous library.

Evidently after the parade and all the vendors on The Green pack up Saturday night, the only thing left for Sunday was a craft fair in the Mason’s lodge. Which was nice, but most of the items were a tad pricey.

We managed to shop a little and I found a really nice shop that makes their own soaps and bath products, there are also a bunch of galleries.

There’s a great General Store called Gillinghams that has everything you could imagine, wine, cheese, groceries, jewelry, musical instruments, books, toys, pet supplies, cards and more.

Pretty houses on The Green.

We had lunch in some restaurant that was completely unremarkable, except for the bartender who may have wanted to sit and eat with us when really all we wanted to do was be alone. Talk about hovering. AND the TV was on full blast. It was a not so great ending to an otherwise pleasant afternoon.

It really wasn’t the end of the day, we stopped in at The Daily Grind to check out our cupcakes and other goodies that they sell. Everything looked great, we ordered some hot chocolate and hit the road. Which was not so fun because it started to snow and the route home is through the mountains on a not so well plowed road.

We did eventually make it home and sat by the fire for a bit and then it was back to work for another late night of cookie icing.

If you ever get to VT and are looking for the BEST B & B in VT, you need to stay at The Village Inn of Woodstock. It’s where we stayed while looking for our house and the owners, David and Evelyn are incredible hosts. Like us they are not from VT, but loved it enough to pack up and move here to start a new life and a new business.

They have two ADORABLE  daschunds, Spanky and Alfalfa. Spanky was a tiny puppy when Dave and I stayed there last, now he’s all grown up with a baby brother.

The breakfasts are amazing and made with local ingredients, Evelyn makes all the breads and the rooms are just amazing. Hands down the most well put together rooms I’ve ever seen in a B & B.

All right, I’m off to the bakery for what I hope is the last of the penguins.

I managed to finish the tree and take some pictures, but the batteries died in the camera.

Stay safe everyone on the East Coast that got buckets of snow. Funny that it didn’t snow a lick here in VT!! We’d love more snow.

Seriously, what’s the point of being in VT if there isn’t 6 feet of snow?

OMG, the rooms at that B&B looked too good to be true. For now, we are out of snow and in sunshine and 70 degree weather in Long Beach, CA. We know all too soon we will be headed north again and will see more than our share of snow.

Oh that place is so beautiful, and the rooms are so elegant, down to earth and they look comfortable. I would probably spend hours in that library. I can’t wait to see your tree. :)
