We were recently asked to donate a decorated wreath for the annual fund raiser for the Mount Holly Community Historical Museum. I decided Silver Snowflakes would be a good theme for my wreath. I spent about 5 hours making the cookies, an assortment of chocolate, vanilla and gingerbread cookies elaborately decorated with sanding sugar, silver dragees and pearl dragees.
Since our wreath is decorated with cookies that can’t be eaten I always include a box (or two) of cookies that can be eaten. This year we included a box of 12 cookies for serving and another box of 10 larger snowflakes packaged as party favors.
A chocolate cookie with white and silver details.
Gingerbread with pearl dragees and white sparkling sugar.
Vanilla with an ice blue base coat and white details with opal sanding sugar and pearl dragees.
And a large chocolate snowflake with a white base and silver details.
I hope they tell me how much the wreath sells for this year. I made one two years ago and never found out how much they made. This wreath and the boxes of cookies are valued at $139.
Don’t anyone ask me for a wreath. It’s a big pain in the but!
Hey, I’ll be doing a Holiday Trivia Giveaway next week so stay tuned!!

Stunning! Did you put a coat of varnish or something on the wreath cookies to make them last or is it for inside use only? Love it!

Beautiful.

KK, I tried varnishing them the first time I donated a wreath and it didn’t work. The varnish made the icing bleed. I always write on the tag that the wreath is for indoor use only. Hopefully, whoever wins it will heed my warning.
Thanks Jenny!

BTW - I was just down in Palm Beach this weekend and saw one of your gorgeous cookie boxes in a shop window on Worth Ave. I took a picture with my iphone and will email it to you as soon I download it!

The flocking on those cookies is GORGEOUS and harder to do than people realize. Beautiful!

That wreath is beautiful. I would have never thought to add cookies to a wreath for decoration.
