And we still have to work….
Here’s what we did last weekend:
My Dad was up from Cape Cod for a visit and to do a little cookie icing. We had 4 people icing and one person (Dave the Icing Mixologist) mixing all the colors and keeping us all supplied with fresh icing bags.
We made 6 batches of Royal Icing to get started. Everyone arrived on time at noon and we were ready to finish up some last minute Turkeys and get a jump on the Christmas cookies.
All in all we applied the outlines and base icing on 1200 cookies in FIVE hours!! Not bad, not bad at all!
The cookies were left to dry overnight and Sunday I got the lucky job of detailing EVERY cookie. (all alone, waaah).
All the presents are done.
All the reindeer lined up and ready for tails, noses and bows.
Reindeer AND presents done. Whew.
Next, the trees need a star on top, a trunk, and a yellow swag.
So many turkeys. I’m thankful that I only have to make turkey cookies once a year.
Personalized turkey favors for an extra special Thanksgiving for someone.
All the cookies were packages and heat sealed on Sunday night. We managed to get all the Santas and candy canes done on Monday.
Not Christmas, or Winter, but I forgot to post these a couple of weeks ago. It seems that whenever we get one order for a particular design, more customers order that same design. In the week we produced these cute yellow and green baby carriages, two more orders for the same cookie were lined up in the production cue. Same thing with Snoopy cookies a while ago, one order came in, then a couple of days later two more came in.
I’ll have more fun Christmas cookies tomorrow AND our cupcake lineup for the month of December. (very exciting, I made home made marshmallows last night. YUM!! Can you guess what the flavors might be? We’ve got 4 special flavors for the month AND I’ll be offering a delicious Buche de Noel for local delivery and pickup. Check back for pictures and details!
Hope you’re all enjoying the post Turkey day relaxation. We’re off to a Turkey dinner tonight at B ad L’s.
BTW: if you haven’t already, you should go over to The Gregarious Homebody and sign up for the Winter Gastronomy Swap!! Winter comfort foods, marshmallow and hot chocolate, hot cider, soups, chili, hot toddies. You need to sign up by Monday!!
